Bergdalahyttan manufactures the popular classic Blue Edge, which has been with the mill throughout its history. Blisters always occur in the production of the blue rim because air pockets are formed when the blue rim is applied. In the past, it was said that the blue rim would prevent flies from approaching bowls, dishes and jugs. <\/p>\n

Many improvements have taken place at the factory since Roger saved the glassworks in 2015. Among other things, the mill shop has undergone a major renovation and is now stylishly decorated in white so that the glass can take its place. On the upper floor of the shop there is now also a gallery where the art glass is highlighted and the exhibition is changed twice a year. <\/p>\n

His interest in creating has been there since childhood. Despite his lack of drawing skills, he uses verbal sketching to shape fantastic creations. He shapes his creativity in stylish glass, preferably with harmonious color combinations and an idea can be discovered at any time. <\/p>\n

In his daily work, you can see that Roger is a driven entrepreneur. He does most of the work at the glassworks – together with his employees, which means everything from being involved in production, grinding glass and packing orders. Maybe that’s why so much coffee is consumed here at the factory? <\/p>\n

Sometimes it could be a party together with the workers, the people in the village, the youth and maybe the hunters from the forest. The glassworks was often the gathering place of the village and it was here that people enjoyed themselves after the glassworkers had finished the day’s hard work. Bergdala Glassworks is the country’s only glassworks with wooden floors and walls and a genuine factory environment. It is also known for its “blue edge” and the manufacturer of the coveted TV award Kristallen. We then tell you about the tramp’s visit to the darkest Sm\u00e5land, where community and warmth were the guiding principles for the meetings. There were both true and less true stories for those who gathered. News from neighboring villages also brightened the gathering for those gathered in the usually warm hut.
