Blue Edge
At the Bergdalahyttan, the popular classic Blue Edge, which has been with the mill throughout its history, is manufactured. Blisters always occur in the manufacture of the blue edge because air pockets form when the blue edge is applied. In the past, it was said that the blue rim would prevent approaching flies from bowls, dishes and jugs.

Roger Johansson
Glasbruk’s designer, owner and CEO
Roger Johansson started in the glass industry as early as 1979 at Kosta Glasbruk as a glass grinder. He remained there for about 10 years before starting his own company in ice cream making. The business quickly became popular and he soon had many fine collaborations with various glassworks and glass artists.
In 2015, Roger Bergdala saved the glass factory and now runs the glass factory under the name Bergdalahyttan – which is the only wooden cabin of its kind in Sweden and is known for the blue edge.
